But Angel, was an “angel” (hah! Dad-joke!) she was an amazing host to us as interested adults while also being able to keep our kids interested and entertained! Our kids loved her, and that’s saying a lot as it was one of the only times our teenager was interested in learning about anything during our time in Hong Kong. Angel customized a 5-hour tour for us to visit Aberdeen and surrounding areas. She met us at our hotel in Central and we traveled to Lei Tung via MTR together. We had the famous noodles at a local restaurant (they weren’t available on the boat itself), toured around on a sampan boat, visited Repulse Bay (beautiful!) and later, Stanley Market. Angel was informative, energetic, and very kind. We enjoyed getting to know her and what it’s like living in Hong Kong. Highly recommend!”

I travel plenty and the inside of Western-style hotels and French-style restaurants look the same everywhere. Why come all this way and not see the good stuff? I don't speak (or read) Cantonese so it's quite a daunting place to visit and I was really hoping I'd get to see a local perspective on someone's hometown. Very glad and happy to say I did - from an off-the-beaten track independent gallery with a great rooftop view to eating things I'd never dare order on my own (one of which I now know I won't need to order ever again...) to local treats like chocolate-filled egg muffin, to tours through market stalls and with explanations throughout of how what I'm seeing relates to the history and religion of the area, I genuinely couldn't have been happier with it.
